Income Report April 2011

What’s up everyone?

I don’t have a lot to talk about this month, as I’m kind of in a hurry to get this written. This is the part of the blog where I reveal my income results from the previous month. I know most of you probably come here just to look at the numbers, so I’ll get that out of the way first. These are my April 2011 internet marketing passive (mostly) income results:

March Income April Income Difference
EPN $375.64 $326.27 ($49.37)
Adsense $582.93 $735.50 $152.57
Commission Junction $53.26 $58.72 $5.46
Amazon $5.89 $3.74 ($2.15)
Clickbank $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
Web Design $0.00 $100.00 $100.00
Niche Site Platform $29.63 $0.00 ($29.63)
PHPBay $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
TOTAL $1,047.35 $1,224.23 $176.88
Adsense Continues to Improve

One of my goals for this year is to break $1000 a month with Adsense. The last 3 months in a row have been my best 3 months ever with Adsense, with each month topping the previous – so I am right on pace. I have a feeling that I might plateau a bit until I can get another site earning a more hefty income. My “tire” site that has been my big winner, has slipped back from #2 on Google to #3 for one keyword phrase. I saw a slight decline toward the end of the month, so I’m not expecting to break $1000, or even $800 just yet. Perhaps with some more work on my niche duel site, I can get those numbers to continue to move upward.

EPN Slips Again

My eBay earnings fell yet again, but not quite as much as they did the previous month. I’m not too worried. I always seem to do better around Christmas, and then dip for awhile afterward. My clicks actually increased last month but my EPC (earnings per click) dipped to 11 cents. I did sell some pretty high ticket items near the end of the month and my EPC shot up to 43 cents for the first day of May. If I could potentially maintain those numbers for the entire month with the same amount of clicks as last month, I would earn over $1300 for May in EPN alone. I don’t foresee that happening, but I can hope, right?

Diversification on the Horizon

I bought a new WordPress plugin that allows me to compare prices for multiple products across various affiliate networks, including Commission Junction, Amazon, Linkshare, and a few others. I’m still experimenting with it and have only just begun installing it on some of my sites. Hopefully this will allow me to increase my earnings on other platforms and networks, in the event that my eBay numbers continue to decline. I’ll try to write up a review of this plugin after I have fully implemented it on one of my sites. EDIT: Read my Comparipress Review

I’m #9 (not really)!

I found this kind of amusing… My earnings report from last month recently received a pingback from a new blog that appears to be collecting income reports from various bloggers that share this type of information. I’m sure the list is not complete, and obviously there are hundreds or thousands of internet marketers out there that do not blog or do not share their income, but I was #9 on the list – which was topped by none other than Pat Flynn. If nothing else, it was cool to see my blog listed with some of the elite bloggers out there.

Social Proof

I know how everyone loves to see social proof. I’m not the first person to show an Adsense check, but maybe this will help motivate someone out there (and bring me a few extra visitors). This is my Adsense check from last month.

That’s all I got. Time to get back to work. How’d you do this past month?

Mike, great job again, keep it up! The other day you mentioned that Adsense was doing great for you, and here’s proof I guess!

I love it when people actually post evidence as I’m sure a lot of people are blowing a lot of hot air.

You’re one of my three blogs I check regularly, and I gave you a drop in my most recent post about SPI. Just an FYI and some motivation that others are taking your advice so keep it coming.

Love the social proof ;) and also how your portfolio is growing in numbers. Checked out the comparipress plugin and it looks like it should help boost your earnings a bit more. Will love to see the results from that.

    Martinsays: Epic!

I’m going to implement it on a site that sells running shoes, and a site that sells vacuum cleaners. Both should be good for a comparison shopping plugin.

I’ll keep you all updated with the results.

Cracking work. Loving the cheque. That’s all the proof we need my man. Stunning job.

Keen to see how you progress further with the Adsense earnings and the plugin sounds really good I will be checking that out without a doubt.

Have you thought of alternative ways to make money from your Adsense sites? Private advertising maybe? It’s something I am attempting to work on for a few of my sites.

    Cheers

i did apply to BuySellAds.com but they denied my site because I don’t get over 100,000 impressions per month. Do you have other suggestions for selling ad space?

      • For your niche site try contacting them directly or create an ‘Advertise here’ page where it details your stats and anything else which could be of interest to advertisers.

The best people to target is those who are advertising through adwords. You know approximately how much they are spending based upon your own adsense earnings. Use the keyword tool and work out an approx figure and use that in the email.

You can say ‘Hi, you are currently spending $600 a month through Adsense. Why not come advertise on my site for $300′.

These type of things can work. I am quite close to securing a private advertising deal which should take my month earnings through the roof. Its not signed yet but hopefully it happens.

Congrats on a nice month. I’m just getting started with niche websites, and reading reports from people having success is so inspiring! I just started by finding Pat Flynn’s blog and have been expanding out to others. Will definitely be stopping back, best of luck for this month.
