You Can’t Make Money Online: 4 Tips to Help You Succeed
Honestly, making money online is not easy. BUT making money online is also not hard. Obviously the first part of the title of this post is a false statement, but if you are struggling to make money from your blog, niche site, or some other internet marketing venture, then read on…
For some people, the learning curve might be steep when it comes to making money on the internet. However, all of the information that you need to succeed is already out there. Many, many others (including myself!) have already proven that making money online is a viable and attainable goal. There are hundreds of thousands of free resources that explain to you exactly what you need to do to make money online. All you have to do is put in your time, research, learn, and follow the blueprint. It really does work.
So what’s the issue? For most people the problem is in their head. Once you get passed a few mental blocks, you’ll have a much better chance of earning money from your online work. What follows are four keys that I think our important factors in helping you achieve success online:
Four Keys to Online Marketing Success
1. Focus on one goal.
Once you have completed your research and have an idea, as well as a plan – stick to it. Stop reading other blogs and ebooks and get to work. The more you fill your head with new ideas, the more you are going to be pulled in multiple directions trying to work on multiple projects. I’m not saying that you have to stop reading all together, but you have to draw the line somewhere and get down to business. If you come across a good idea, add it to a list and put it off on the back burner. Work on one thing at a time – to completion, before moving on to the next project. Leaving 5 projects half finished will get you nowhere.. Finishing 1 project to 100% completion will help lead to a steady passive income and allow you to have the time and resources to move on to the next project.
I know I’ve been guilty of this in the past. I’ll begin researching a niche idea and I find 5 different keyword phrases that I think I can make money from. Rather than focusing on one of them, I decide to buy 5 domains at once and try to work on all 5 sites at the same time. Inevitably I fail and all 5 sites are partially completed – filled with little content and each only having a few backlinks or none at all. It’s not until I decide to focus my efforts on one site and put 100% into that site, that I will finally see a payoff. I may have to sacrifice and lose the other 4 sites to expiration (or put them off for some extended period of time) – but it usually ends up being worth it in the end, to at least have 1 site succeed.
2. Work Hard.
It’s cliche, I know, but you can’t be fooled by some of these pro bloggers. People that claim to work 4 hours a week while they sit around at their pool, and drive around in expensive cars are probably lying to you.. And if they truly are living that lifestyle, they didn’t get their by chance. They put in a ton of work in the beginning.
You will not make money online without doing a lot of work. Repeat that to yourself! I work an 8-5 job 5 days a week. Today is my birthday. My girlfriend is asking my to come to bed. Yet I am sitting here finishing up some work on one of my niche sites, and trying to finish up this blog post. If you don’t put in the work, you aren’t going to make any money. Believe me, I wish there were a shortcut – I’m tired and I have to get up for work tomorrow.
3. Stop checking your stats!
I’m sure a lot of you are guilty of this problem. You’ve set up your first website, now you waiting for the money to come rolling in. Yes, I know how great it feels to see the visitor count increase from day to day, or analyzing how people found your site, or watching your adsense earning increase throughout the day. I’m guilty of this myself. But if you are constantly checking your stats, then you aren’t following rule #2 – Work hard.
Contrary to what you might think, checking your stats every 5 minutes is not going to make them change. If you have $0.00 sitting in your Adsense account, then checking your stats isn’t going to bring visitors to your site. You need to be working on adding content and building backlinks. Try to focus on checking your stats either at the end of the day or check the previous day’s numbers the next morning. Easier said than done, but it is something you must overcome if you want to succeed.
4. Reinvest your earnings.
Assuming you have followed the first 3 tips, you will eventually start to make some money online. Congratulations!
So what are you going to do with all your hard earned internet winnings? If you are smart, then you will reinvest at least a portion of your hard earned money back into your business. Buy new domain names, buy a helpful eBook, or most importantly buy some of the great time saving software tools. Whether it be an article spinner, a wordpress plugin, a niche site research tool, or anything else that helps you do your work more efficiently – time is money, and the faster you can get something done, the higher your return on your investment will be. In #2 above, we talked about working harder. Buying time saving tools will help you work smarter.
I list some of my favorite tools that I’ve used in my resources page.
Follow these 4 tips and you will become a better internet marketer, and more importantly you will be one step closer to proving that you really can make money online.

Mike, happy belated birthday! Thanks for your tips. I agree that setting a realistic goal is important and working hard to accomplish it.
I’d suggest to break down the tasks in order to archive the goal, set schedule and deadline, and complete them one by one.
I like what you say.. time is money, work smart, and investing in right tools.
Right on, thanks for adding values to us.

Don’t mind
But will suggest you make your theme a bit less complex. Looks more of stuffed type. Your rectangular Maroon color is also very strong, u can make it thin. Also considering changing font and there size. More official type look is this.
Hope u would take it in a healthy way.
cheers
thanks for the feedback. I have thought about making the side bars thinner.. just never got around to changing the code and the image files.

Cant say enough of this! Its easy to take it away and have a lil bit of fun, but had it been reinvested, it would help in generating more along the way! Great post Mike.

What I am wondering is how to rank well for in Ebay searches? Any ideas or tips?
Several persons think this is a subject that is certainly solely dependent on particular opinion, I have to disagree. I would like to personally thank you for finding the time to jot down how you really feel relating to this matter, and generating it public to any or all people seeking at your web page.
If I were you, I wouldn’t bother building another website. Why not take advantage of the sites you already have. If you are making money from Google (and I assume you mean Google Adsense) then you must already be getting traffic to those pages.
