Income Report May 2011

Spring fever / Summer fever, call it what you want.. But I just haven’t been motivated to sit down at the computer of late.

The weather has just been too nice! And between running a half marathon, running the Ohio Warrior Dash this past weekend, playing on a weeknight softball team, and playing on my summer baseball team, I just have not had the time or the desire to write a new post on the blog. (Not to mention the frustration that comes along with trying to come up with fresh new topics, when you seem to be writing to a handful of people.)

Needless to say, the blog has been quiet the past couple of weeks and will probably stay quiet over the summer. I have some exciting vacations planned. I won’t abandon the blog, but I’ll probably post less often. I’m sure I will get motivated again when Fall and Winter roll around, and my niche sites start to pick up again.

With that being said, I can’t NOT post my income report for May. It’s the most popular part of my blog! And besides, my girlfriend keeps nagging me to post it :)

So here are the passive income numbers from May 2011:

April Income May Income Difference
EPN $326.27 $431.29 $105.02
Adsense $735.50 $662.72 ($72.78)
Commission Junction $58.72 $100.53 $41.81
Amazon $3.74 $39.10 $35.36
Clickbank $0.00 $40.13 $40.13
Web Design $100.00 $20.00 ($80.00)
Niche Site Platform $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
PHPBay $0.00 $0.00 $0.00
HometownQuotes Affiliate $0.00 $19.50 $19.50
Shareasale.com $0.00 $11.00 $11.00
TOTAL $1,224.23 $1,324.27 $100.04
Steady Improvements and Diversified Earnings

Although I didn’t match my best Adsense month ever from the previous month, I made up for it by diversifying my earnings and making some improvements in other areas. Overall, I only earned $100 more than the previous month, but it was nice to make some sales through some new affiliate programs (HometownQuotes and Shareasale.com).

My Amazon got a big boost when I sold a motorized scooter on my “bike” store. And my Commission Junction earnings were boosted by a tweak that I made to my “tire” store and by adding the Comparipress plugin to my shoe niche site. (Check it out, if you missed my review of Comparipress)

My First Clickbank Check Ever?!

I don’t want to jinx myself, but I finally made another sale on ClickBank in May, and I followed up by making another sale already this month! Might I finally see my first check from Clickbank, after already losing out on a couple hundred dollars to the dormant account policy?? Stay tuned. (Side note: Why ClickBank sucks!)

Those are some great figures. I’ve only just started out and so only made £23 in May… but I’ve been doing really well this month and can’t wait to show off my June income!

  2. Sweet, Mike! I love checking out your monthly income reports. It’s so cool to see you have some up from various sources like CJ, Amazon, and Clickbank.

I hope I could hit my $100 month mark, and move it to $500, and $1000 passive income a month. :)

    Keep it up!

Well done Mike. I hope to be earning what you are earning one day. Your income reports really inspire me to do more. I have also started a niche website inspired by Pat Flynn on cold sore remedies and hope this works for me.

    Hey Mike,

It’s inspiring to see someone actually making decent money in IM. I just published my first niche site the middle of last month, so no sales to report in May.

I got my first adsense click this month: $0.01. Lesson learned: do better research before choosing a primary keyword. However, there are other keywords I can focus on that pay better once I optimize pages for them.

My sister and I share another site and we’re at $6 for 2 clicks on Monday. Double digits by month end is within reach.

    Keep up the good work!
